Brownies- Version 1

These healthy brownies are made from wholesome ingredients. The apples and dates help to sweeten them naturally without any added sugar.

Servings: 8

 

Ingredients

1 cup apple puree (from ~2 apples)

3/4 cup flour

5 tbsp + 1 tsp cocoa powder

12 dates

1/2 tsp baking soda

1/2 tsp salt

1/2 cup walnuts (opt)

 

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

2. Puree apples. Add upto 1 tbsp water if needed to blend. Sift in dry ingredients.

3. Bake 20-30 minutes.

Notes: Very fudgy. Very sweet. 1/4 of this recipe filled one mini cake pan. Lots of people recommended adding 1 tsp baking powder.

These brownies use simple ingredients that you probably already have on hand.

Ingredients

1+ cup dates

3/4 cup flour

1/2 cup cocoa

3/4 cup water

1 tbsp oil (opt)

2 tsp vanilla

1/2 tsp baking soda

 

Instructions

1. Combine ingredients.

2. Bake at 350 degrees for 15-20 minutes.

These "sneaky" brownies have hidden vegetables in them, and you won't be able to taste them.

Ingredients

1/2 cup carrot puree

1/2 cup spinach puree

3/4 cup flour

about 18-20 dates

7 tbsp cocoa

2 tbsp banana

1 egg

1 tsp vanilla

1/2 tsp baking powder

1/2 tsp salt

 

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

2. Combine veggie puree, dates, banana, vanilla, and egg.

3. Stir in flour, cocoa poweder, baking powder, and salt.

4. Bake 20 minutes.

These healthy brownies use sweet potatoes to help sweeten them.

Ingredients

9 tbsp + 2 tsp cocoa

9 tbsp flour

2/3 cup sweet potato puree

25 dates

1 egg

4 tbsp coconut oil

1.5 tsp vanilla

1/4 tsp instant coffee powder

1/4 tsp baking powder

1/4 tsp salt

 

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

2. Melt buter. Stir in cocoa powder.

3. Whisk flour, baking powder, and salt. Stir in dates and sweet potato. Add egg.

4. Stir together vanilla and coffee. Add to cocoa mixture.

5. Bake 20-25 minutes.

1/2 avocado

6 tbsp cocoa powder

11 tbsp dates (~17)

1/4 cup milk

1 tsp coffee granules

1 tsp vanilla

1/2 tsp baking powder

1/4 tsp baking soda

1/4 tsp sea salt

 

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

2. Combine coffee granules with 2 tbsp boiling water.

3. Combine dates, milk, cofee mixture, and vanilla. Add avocado.

4. Combine flour, cocoa, flax, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

5. Add dry to wet.

6. Bake 25-30 minutes.
