Mamey Sapote-
To pick, scratch skin and make sure it is dark orange on both ends. Wait for it to soften like a ripe avocado or pear. Tastes like a very sweet sweet potato with a slightly powdery texture.

Looks like an orange from the outside. The first time I tried it, it tasted sour--like a Grapefruit. But the second time I tried it, it tasted sweeter than an orange.

Tasted sour. Seed texture inside. Weighted 0.14 pounds. Wrinkly. Smelled sour outside.

First time: Hint of lime taste, very subtle, not very sweet. Texture of kiwi.
Second time: Tastes like mild kiwi

Crunchy texture. Stringy consistency. Have an off, pesticid-y flavor. I like the texture of dried dates better.

Bland, hint of lime flavor, harder texture than pear, mine was brown which indicates it was overripe, had strong sent but no give

Eat these when they are soft (like a water ballon). It took mine about 1 week to ripen. I bought it for $1.50. It is delcious--as sweet as sugar.

Flavor of a tangerine but suprisingly juicy texture. Cost about $5.99/pound or ~$1 each
Would I buy it again? Probably not, because taste is just like tangerine but it is more expensive
