Refried Beans

You'll love these refried beans. The secret is pureeing the beans.

Yield: 2 servings

Ingredients

1/2 cup dry pinto beans

1-2 garlic cloves

1/4 tsp cumin (I reduced from 1/2 tsp)

1/2 tsp chili powder

1/4 tsp oregano (optional- not in some recipes)

1/8 tsp salt (original recipe called for 1/4 tsp)

maybe some onion powder

 

Instructions

1. Cook beans

2. Saute garlic. Add beans and spices.

3. Puree in blender, using 1/4 cup of bean liquid.

Notes: The secret is to puree the beans instead of mashing them. Don't use any onions, or else it will taste sweet.
