Poached Pear

Poaching pears intensifies their sweetness.

Ingredients

1 pear

3 tbsp O.J.

1 cup water

1/4 tsp lemon zest

1/4 tsp cinnamon

 

Instructions

1. Peel pear.

2. Simmer 20-30 minutes.

3. Remove pear. Reduce sauce. Serve on top. Enjoy!

 

Notes: This was the first poached pear recipe I tried. You can really taste the lemon zest

 

Notes 2: Before the reduction, the pear picks up no flavor and it would be a no. After the reduction, it is a yes. Can taste cinnamon. It doesn't matter if you peel the pear.
